8/1/08-- LAST DAY!
- We leave on the 9:10 shuttle to go to the 9th Avenue campus for Dr. Cohen's interview, so don't be late!
- We won't have time to eat on the other campus because we will be taking the 11:10 shuttle back. Instead, I think I'll order pizza for the three of us. Or maybe sandwiches from Jimmy John's. Let me know what kinds of toppings you like! We should probably start copying and reformatting the interview as soon as we get back and have what we call a working lunch (eat and work at the same time).
- Before you leave, make sure you write your final blog entry!
CHECKLIST OF TASKS TO ACCOMPLISH
- 6 podcast recordings (3 full, 3 10-minute excerpts) of
Dr. Winn, Dr. Corbin, and Dr. Cohen
Altonen interview article posted on the wiki
- Instructions on podcasting posted on the wiki
- Final CHILI blog entries
7/31/08
- Prepare AND POST your Questions for your interviews with Dr. Cohen. Try to think about what you REALLY want to know and what would make an interesting podcast. Look over his websites and stuff. Think outside the box and have fun with this one!
- Interview Rhonda Altonen at 1pm. This time, I want BOTH OF YOU to write the article together. Since you guys did not quite follow my instructions on the first 6 articles, let's do it for the last one. I do not want one of you to write it and the other to edit it. Figure out a way to collaborate on writing this one together, and make it a minimum 4 paragraph article. I want to see it on the wiki today before you leave. It doesn't have to be in its final, polished format-- rough draft is fine-- you can spend some time tomorrow polishing it up.
- Make the 10 minute mp3 excerpts of the first 2 podcasts. I want all 4 mp3 files to be finished today before you leave because you will not have time to do this on Friday since you'll need to work on Dr. Cohen's podcasts (the full interview and the 10 minute excerpt) and get those done.

- Prepare AND POST your Questions for your interviews with Dr. Cohen. Try to think about what you REALLY want to know and what would make an interesting podcast. Look over his websites and stuff. Ask him if he's read the Mary Roach book Stiff.
- Figure out and collaborate together on what portion of Dr. Winn's interview that would make a great 10-minute podcast.
- Get the interview articles of Ruth Gilbert posted on the wiki.
- Catch up time! Remember, if you get unbearably bored, I can find stuff for you to do!

I'll have some questions for the interview with Rhonda Altonen, one of the library's Tech III's who is currently in school to receive her Master's degree in Library and Information Science at Emporia University (Kansas). This will be your chance to find out from at least one person what library school is like.
- Figure out how you're going to conduct Tuesday's interview with Dr. Lisa Corbin tomorrow.
- Get the interview articles of Ruth Gilbert and LIsa Traditi done and posted on the wiki.
- 1pm interview with Dr. Lisa Corbin.

Shadow/Interview Joan Beam, librarian @ 10 am. She will be showing you what she does, so you can ask questions as you go rather than prepare them ahead of time.CANCELED
- Today will be mostly a work day for you-- work on podcasts, figuring out how to get audio WAV files from the recorder onto the computer and DOCUMENTING what you find out and writing out instructions! See Tina for some tricks on capturing screen shots so you can SHOW as well as tell.

- If you have time, reflect about the MedConnect meeting that you attended yesterday. You both mentioned that it was awful and very long-- see if you can identify specific things that made you feel that way. Did you observe how the other attendees were handling the meeting? What behaviors did you notice that you feel were effective towards moving the meeting forward or keeping it on track? What behaviors (if any) threw the meeting off track? Do you think that if you had a stake in the outcome of the meeting that you might have felt differently about it? Why or why not? I would love to see you journal a little about this, but it's mostly just questions to help you process your experiences yesterday.
