Thoughts about yesterday's meeting-July 17, 2008

     Yesterday (July 16, 2008), Besirat and I went to another meeting. This time the meeting was for med-connect, something that we knew about. Before the meeting, we went to a pre-meeting so we could get some idea of what med-connect was all about. We learned that med-connect was all about libraries' involvment with eachother. It's a pretty cool method of dealing with things actually. A couple of experts told us that many libraries have a ton of problems, but more importantly, they have a lot of the same problems. What med-connect allows is a more effeicient way of dealing with the problems because instead of dealing with all the problems seperately, they deal with them on an equal period.

     Although the whole concept is very interesting and truely a good idea, the metting went the other way. Atleast for my partner and I. It's true, we can see some sort of interest in the topic at hand, but the people involved in the meeting were truly passionate about the subject. This was a huge difference between the associates and me and my partner. The other people attedning the meeting handled the metting a lot different than my partner and I. Because they were so involved with the course before, they were very attentive and always had a lot of things to say. Also the general knowledge of the attendees was vast on the subject compared to us. (continued.)
